I met Jason Blackwell about a year and a half ago through his wife, Amanda. I was working at MCI and was to train a newbie how to sell. In between barking orders at Amanda, and trying to make myself a sale, I would leaf through one of those other magazines with "well written" articles, and "color" photos. Well observant Amanda took note of this and asked if I was a climber, and the informed me that she was one as well. I asked her if she wanted to go that day after work and she said she was to wash her hair or something. To make a long story shorter, I started climbing with Amanda and Jason, and although Jason proved to be a strong climber, I secretly questioned his dedication and enthusiasm, because he was so damn quiet and I never knew if he was as stoked as I was. Well, Jason has turned out to be one of the best climbing partners I have known to date, and
he has never bailed on climbing plans. Even when I have forgotten to leave a note with directions, he has sniffed us out like bloodhounds in the bat cave. Anyhow, I wanted an interview because I had heard snippets of a story on how Jason started climbing. Continued...
